Historical Overview:
The cabin was built in 1978 by a technician who worked for Hydro Quebec in Montreal and purchased the forest lot land from a local farmer. He was seduced by the incredible intimacy that this property offered (at the end of a private road in the midst of a mature forest stand on 335 feet of water front) within a short drive from Montreal. He bought the property for $5000. He chose beautifully tooled knotty pine boards for the entire interior, a cathedral ceiling punctuated by a sky light and oak flooring. Later he added a deck on the south side and a subsequent owner closed in the deck with a pine board cathedral ceiling for a new dinning room. Yet a subsequent owner (a Montreal banker) added the big water-front deck, but had to sell the property when he was transferred to Toronto. Subsequent owners added the two very large great room windows that provide the panoramic view of the water front. The current owners opened up the interior, added modern windows & doors and completely rebuilt the kitchen and bath room, finishing them with ceramic and granite tile and brand new state-of-the-art appliances, including gas cooking range, bottom-freezer fridge, and front-load washer and dryer.
